Stat of the Day

15 – In a battle of the number one seeds in The Big Dance, the Florida Gators (35-5) got what they all came back another year for – the elusive repeat in NCAA basketball. Their 84-75 win over the Ohio State Buckeyes (35-4) – the Buckeyes have two of their four losses credited to Florida – Monday night made them the first team to repeat since the 1991-92 Duke Blue Devils, as MOP Corey Brewer led the way with 13 points off of 3 threes, 8 rebounds and 3 steals.

Opening Day in the MLB also saw a feat that hadn’t happened in 15 years; Milwaukee Brewers ace Ben Sheets threw a complete game, two-hitter against the Los Angeles Dodgers in their 7-1 season-opening win. The last time a pitcher threw a complete game of two hits or less in the season opener was in 1992, when Tom Glavine for the Atlanta Braves threw a two-hitter against the Houston Astros.
