Stat of the Day

19 – The number of rebounds by Orlando Magic center Dwight Howard in his first postseason game to go along with 13 points, 3 assists and 3 blocked shots in the Magic’s 100-92 defeat by the Detroit Pistons. Howard also had 6 turnovers (the Pistons had 9) and went 3 for 11 from the free throw line (the Magic went 18 for 36).

The first overall pick in 2004 joins just two others in the last 20 years to grab at least 19 rebounds in their first postseason game – Shaquille O’Neal had 19 in 1994 with the Magic and Ben Wallace had 20 in 2002 with the Pistons.
