Okay, he may not be as hot as Alex Rodriguez (who is?), but San Francisco Giants (11-8) slugger Barry Bonds hit home run No. 741 in a 6-4 victory over their rival Los Angeles Dodgers (13-8), moving within 14 of Hank Aaron’s all-time mark of 755. In the first inning, Bonds launched a three-run shot off Randy Wolf into right-center field, propelling the Giants to their 7th straight win. It was his fourth homer in six games. Bonds finished 2 for 4 with 3 RBI and 2 strikeouts before being replaced in the eighth inning.

For the season, Bonds is hitting .346 with 7 home runs, 15 RBI and 13 walks.
