San Francisco (29-34) slugger Barry Bonds hit home run number 747 Monday, a two-run shot in the fourth inning to lead the Giants to a 4-3 victory over the Toronto Blue Jays (30-33). Bonds is now just 8 shy of tying Hank Aaron’s all-time mark of 755, after going 13 games without a home run. In the fourth inning, Bonds launched an 0-1 pitch off Josh Towers (2-4) over the center field wall, making him the 440th different pitcher to allow a home run to Bonds. The left-fielder finished the game 1 for 3 with a walk. At current season’s pace, Bonds is expected to tie the record on July 28.

For the season, Bonds is hitting .277 with 13 home runs, 30 RBI and a major league-leading 62 walks.
